We Did It!

In the early hours of this morning we hit the French coast near Wissard, just past Cap Gris-Nez.

We started out at 10am west of Shakespeare Beach Saturday morning and completed the crossing in a very respectable 14 hours, 11 minutes and 30 seconds.

There's lots to tell about swimming in the dark, jellyfish stings, sea sickness and just general sickness, big waves, small waves, ferries and more.

We did it as a team and people swam their legs with style, with bravery, with super human-efforts and in the face of illness and adversity - however they needed to do it, when their turn came, to get the team across.

The pictures, videos and stories will appear here in due course.

Big thanks to all our sponsors, friends and family who helped us with our training, motivation, and with the words and messages that kept us going yesterday.

Channel conquered!

Congrats guys :-)

Well done - swimming while the sun is setting sounds like fun.

I looked at the map though and if you're planning on swimming it again I think I can see a more direct route......

You guys and Gals were fantastic, having watched you train, talk about and prepare for this swim it was clear to us all that whatever the challenge you had the grit, determination, fitness to have a great swim. I am very proud of you all and the way you worked as individuals for the benefit of the team and your chosen charities. Congratulations.

Congratulations! Very proud of you all...especially having watched you right from the beginning and those chilly 20 minute dips at Dover! Can't wait to see the footage!
So, what's next....?!

Congratulations. having read the route and your comments it certainly looked like an ordeal. It is that aspect that strikes me most about your determination, over and above the money raised. Offer it up, as they say...
